先进文化是一个民族千百年来文化传统长期陶铸的结晶。高举先进文化的旗帜,首先是要继承传统文化,但这种继承绝不是全盘肯定、拿来,而是要既克服又保留,即扬弃。现时代,先进文化所以有着巨大的生命力,更在于它与时俱进的不断创新。历史上,我们党选择了把马克思主义作为新文化运动的指导思想,这是先进文化的根本创新。今天,先进文化的创新更体现在从形式到内容的全面丰富和发展。先进文化是继承和创新的辩证统一。

Advanced culture is the result of th e action of a nation.To hold high the b anner of the ad-vanced culture,we must first inherit the traditional culture.But it' s not to bring it simply,it' s to de-velop the useful and discard the useless.In the present age,the life forc e of advanced culture comes from innovation.In history our Party looks upon Marxism as the lodestar o f the advanced culture,which is the cardinal innovation.Today,t he innovation of advanced culture mu st be enriched and developed from the form to the content.Advance d culture is the integration of inheritance and innovation.
